Detection of oil spills at sea is a difficult task. Oil spill response requires a significant amount of robust information to allow decision makers to do the best job possible. Thus, persistent monitoring and early detection of an oil spill is necessary for immediate actions taken to mitigate its impacts on the environment and the economy of coastal states. It is also essential to make sure waters in the area of interest are not contaminated with spilled oil with other activities in the region.

Remote sensing data enables our analysts to get accurate information on the location, extent, direction, and magnitude of marine oil spills. With radar imagery acquired from variety of SAR satellite constellations we are able to actively monitor, detect, and react to potential oil spills before they become catastrophes.
